Four-Person aka Playscape
A painted and quilted game.
How would you play four-person chess? All against one another, teams, towards a common goal? Would you use only the chess pieces, the checker’s pieces, both, or neither? What would your objective be?
This project is the beginning of a long-term exploration into the importance of play and games in helping to build relationships and community. The vibrant colors invoke play and can also be used as one of the many possible parameters for gameplay. The soft fabric challenges the standards of wood or stone chessboards and provides a packable and washable game board.
